Meet Dr. Kohar Jones, MD
I’m a board certified family physician offering personalized, holistic primary care that supports your whole body, mind, and spirit. My practice is ideal for people navigating major life transitions like divorce, grief, trauma, burnout, identity shifts and those who want to explore healing through both modern medicine and traditional practices. I listen deeply and give you the time you need to tell your story, because true health is personal.

After training at Yale School of Medicine and completing my residency at Brown, I moved to Chicago to become faculty at University of Chicago Medicine, caring for underserved communities and teaching the next generation of doctors. I’ve practiced trauma-informed medicine in shelters and clinics, integrating psychiatric care and addiction treatment into my primary care work.

From the day I first stepped foot in a hospital, I realized vibrant health isn’t found in the ICU. It’s cultivated in daily life. I co-founded YogaCare to bring the healing benefits of yoga into health centers across Chicago. I became a certified yoga teacher and breath coach to help people access the healing power of breath, movement, and lifestyle. I embraced ayurvedic healing. I now regularly prescribe breathing practices, somatic therapy, and gentle movement alongside medications.

I partner with an ayurvedic healer, physical therapists, mental health therapists, yoga teachers and other wellness professionals to treat the whole you. My focus is helping you connect with your innate ability to grow through life’s hardest moments so you can emerge more resilient, grounded, and fully alive as your healthiest you. Evolved.
